Watson, a resident of the Maplewood Campus, Canton and formerly of Colton, will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Colton with Rev. Howard Venette presiding. Burial will be held in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in the spring. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton on Friday from 5:30 – 8 p.m. Mr. Watson passed away Tuesday afternoon at the Maplewood Campus./ppJohn is survived by his brother, Russell and Carol Lee Watson, Rome, NY; a sister-in-law, Barbara Watson, Colton; his aunt, Elizabeth Sullivan Ford, Canton; one niece, three nephews and several cousins. pWatertown- Graveside services with military honors will be held at Fullerville Cemetery July 2016 for Carlton A. Simmons who passed away at the Samaritan Medical Center Sunday, January 10th. Carlton was 84 years old./ppHe was born March 17, 1931, a son to Fullerville’s Lester and Amelia Benway Simmons. He received his high school education, and joined the United State Air Force following graduation, serving the United States for 4 years. Following an honorable discharge he enrolled in art school in Cleveland, Ohio./ppCarlton worked primarily as a self-employed painter. Although a marriage to Eleanor “Ellie” Rastley would end in divorce, the couple remained friends until her passing on March 28, 2011./ppCarlton enjoyed painting homes, canvas painting, fishing, playing the lottery, westerns, going to clam bakes, his computer, and spending time with his family and friends. Over the last few years he was a caregiver to his longtime companion of 31 years, Bette Corp./ppHe was a member of the Brownville American Legion Post. Carlton will be remembered as an extremely generous man who had a wonderful sense of humor. /ppSurviving besides his companion, Bette, are a daughter: Cheryl (Thomas) Ellithorpe, Skaneateles; his grandchildren: Morgan and Geoff Ellithorpe; and his companion’s children and their families: Tom Lawler, Joe Lawler, John Lawler, and Janelle Sequoin, whom he was very close with. pHope Jeanine Warner Andersen, 79, of Midland, died Saturday evening, Dec. 12, 2015 at Candlestone Assisted Living. She was born Dec. 3, 1936 to Harold Horatio Warner and Dorothy Pearl Thompson Warner in Chaumont, N.Y. Hope married Stanley Andersen Aug. 23, 1958 and they pastored several churches throughout the course of her life, including Midland Assemply of God, now Christian Celebration Center, for eleven years in the 1970s. She resided in Midland again from July 2013 until she passed from this life on Dec. 12. She is now enjoying her new home and eternal reward in heaven. /ppShe is survived by her husband of 57 years, the Rev. Stanley Andersen; her sisters Faith Emma (frank) of Chandler, Ariz., Charity Ludlow (Fran) of Clayton, N.Y., and Bonnie Wilson (Ken) of North Myrtle Beach, S.C. She has three daughters, Julie Hays of Midland, Laurie Langley (Randal) of Spartanburg, S.C., and Jodie Osterday (Michael) of Charleston, Ill. Her grandchildren are Ben Hayes (Stephanie), Amanda Hickerson (Dan), Michael Hays (Hannah), Johnathan Langley, Jessica Rusch (Chris), Rebekah Osterday and Ross Osterday. Her great-grandsons are Lucas Hickerson, Wesley and Easton Hays. pAnthony “Andy” Zach, 89, of Clayton passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday morning, January 23, 2016./ppCalling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton on Tuesday, January 26, from 4 - 7PM. A prayer service will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 27, at 10:15AM followed by the funeral mass celebrated at St. Mary’s Church at 11AM with Rev. Vincent T. Freeh, MSC officiating. The burial will be in the spring in Clayton Cemetery. Andy was born in Theresa on December 21, 1926, son of Henry and Johanna Ritter Zach and he graduated from LaFargeville High School in 1944. He worked on the family farm in LaFargeville and then as a truck driver for Smith Transport until 1951. He then entered the US Army, serving with the 59th Engineering Construction Co. He was honorably discharged, in Alaska, as a Staff Sergeant in 1953. After his discharge he worked for a construction company in Alaska./ppIn 1954 he moved to Clayton where he operated a service station, which sold and serviced small engines and sold foreign sport cars. From 1965 until his retirement in 1991 he was a mobile tool distributor, first for MAC Tools and later for MATCO Tools. After his retirement he was a real estate salesman./ppFor all of his life, Andy had a love of family and community. He was a charter member of the Clayton Lions Club where he served as president from 1961 - 1962 and as secretary from 1992 - 2007. He also served as cabinet secretary-treasurer for district 20W for the 1996 - 1997 year. In 1996 he was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship by the Club and in 1998 he received an award from the Lions 20W district. He served as president of the Clayton Chamber of Commerce from 1957 - 1958 and was a member of both the Clayton Hockey Hall of Fame and American Legion Colon-Couch Post 821. Andy was one of the founders of Thousand Island Go-Kart Club in Clayton, had served as its president, and was a New York State karting champion in his class./ppAndy enjoyed reading, history, working on small engines and after his retirement, golf. He also enjoyed volunteering at the Antique Boat Museum and for the Village of Clayton with their walking tours. He was a driver for Jefferson County Volunteer Transport and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church./ppHe is survived by his four children and their spouses, his twin daughters Tonia Z. and James H. Thirtle and Marcia J. Zach and husband, Michael E. Tomb, all of Rochester, Amy Z. and Stephen J. Turcotte, Clayton and Kyle A. and Vicki M. Zach, Rochester; three grandchildren, Matthew S. Turcotte, Nolan A. Zach, and Nadia M. Zach; his brother and his wife, Frederick W. and Jean Zach, Kenniwich, WA; one niece, two nephews, and cousins.
