Arline attended Boonville Central School, graduating in 1940. She then attended the Utica School of Commerce graduating in 1942 before working for Hoffman and Dudo in Lowville. Arline also worked at Sheffield Farms Milk Plant before beginning her 36 years career as a registered cardiology technologist and registered histologist at Faxton Hospital and Centrex in Utica, NY./ppOn December 4th 1948, Arline was united in marriage to Bill Grower, in St. Joseph’s Church, Boonville, a blessed union of sharing 59 years of family and memories with daughters /son – Sharon Grower and Greg Grower both of Boonville, and Martha Kowalik of Albany. She is also survived by grandchildren – Marsha Caloro of Syracuse, Bonnie Waters of Rome, Ryan Kowalik of Albany, and Great Grandchild Zachary Rogers of Rome, NY./ppArline and her late husband Bill, were active lifetime members at the Sampson’s Veteran and Naval Museum in Romulus, New York. Arline is best known for her avid love of photography. Arline has won many accolades with her photography, and has had photos displayed at Dodge Pratt , in Adirondack Life Magazine, on local phone book covers, yearbooks, and more. pBoonville_ Michael Alvin Croneiser, 57, husband of Lori, passed away peacefully at his residence, while surrounded by the loving care of his family, on Sunday, July 17, 2016. /ppMichael A. Croneiser was born on January 14, 1959, and was proud to have been raised on a dairy farm on the Fish Creek Road, West Leyden, NY. Mike graduated from Adirondack Central School, with a regent’s diploma, in 1977. Mike moved to Edinburgh, Texas, and worked on the oil rigs from 1977-1980, returning to New York and was employed for Law Brothers Contracting from 1980-1992, when they closed their business. In 1992, he started Micro Contracting, which was mostly lite commercial building construction. In 1994, Mike purchased C. Hughes Hardware, from his grandmother, Ruth Hughes, which still operates today by an excellent staff. Mike was always fond of stating “his operation of the hardware store was so successful, because of the efforts of his excellent staff.” Later Mike began employment as consultant as clerk / inspector from 2003-present. /ppMike was fortunate the “babe” introduced him to the LOVE of his life, Lori, on Labor Day Weekend, 1995; this relationship resulted in marriage on June 6, 2015; one of the happiest days of Mike’s life. /ppWhile in high school, Mike enjoyed playing Varsity Football. For ten years Mike served on the Town of Boonville Planning board; at the conclusion of that service he was elected to the Town of Boonville Board, an office which he held for 11 years, including at the present time. Mike was a present member, serving as Commander from 2004-15’ for the Sons of the American Legion Squadron, of the Charles J. Love Post # 406, Boonville, and a member of Boonville Elks Lodge # 2158. He enjoyed the game of Golf, participating for many years on the Monday and Thursday night Golf Leagues at Woodgate Pines Golf Course, Boonville. In 2008, Mike and Lori purchased a home in New Smyrna Beach, FL, where he greatly enjoyed visiting the Beach Side Tavern. /ppIn addition to his wife, Lori, Mike is survived by his two step sons, Joseph and Shawn Sullivan, two grandsons, Kevin and Colin Sullivan; Mike considered Kevin to be the child which he never had. Also surviving are his mother, Nancy Hughes Scherz, his father, Willis Croneiser, both of Boonville; two sisters, Rita Myers, and Dollie Kaido; two brothers, Peter and Patrick Croneiser and several nieces and nephews. /ppHis Funeral will be Thursday at 10:00 A.M. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, with interment to follow in Boonville Cemetery. pJessica Lynn Ciarfella, 31, of Redwood, NY died unexpectedly on July 11, 2016 while visiting her grandmother in Chesapeake, VA. She passed peacfully and was surrounded by loved ones. Jessica was born to Anthony Ciarfella and Kim Marie Ciarfella on Thursday, June 13, 1985 in Poughkeepsie, NY who both survive her. In addition to her parents she is survived by three sisters, Toni, Victoria, and Angelina Ciarfella and her grandmothers Joan Ciarfella and MaryAnn Agne. Her partner of ten years, Shawn Laning, and her young son, Blake Laning, also survive her, along with a nephew, Ryan Young. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends also survive her. Jessica is predeceased by three grandfathers James “Pinky” Ciarfella, James Agne, and Charles Hiesel. She is also predeceased by her aunt, Kim Ciarfella. /ppJessica’s latest employer was Edgewood Resort where she worked as a front desk clerk. Jessica was taken from us much too soon but will always be remembered for her beautiful green eyes, infectious smile, and adventurous personality. Jessica was kind-hearted, generous, spontaeous, and an all around joy to spend time with. She had a passion for music and travel. Concerts and road trips were a couple of her favorite things, along with making memories with her sweet son, which will be forever cherished. /ppJessica graduated from Lafargeville High School in 2003 where she was a member of the cheer-leading squad and had many amazing friends. Jessica was eager to further her career and was enrolled at SUNY Jefferson before her passing. Jessica was known for her strength and bold personality; her calm demeanor and willingness to be a fighter when necessary made her respected by many. /ppWhen you think of Jessica please remember her bright, quirky sense of humor, love of adventure, and dedication to her family. He received the National Defense Service and Good Conduct Medals and was honorably discharged on September 10, 1956./pp He married Mary Jane Dewey at St. Mary’s Church, Clayton on December 28, 1954 and Rev. George Racette officiated./pp Mr. Bertrand was a teacher and former administrator for 29 years, lastly working for the Indian River School District in Evans Mills. He retired July 1, 1988. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church and a member of the Indian River Lions Club, both in Evans Mills. He enjoyed volunteering for various social organizations, including Office of the Aging. He also enjoyed golfing, and fishing, and had a love of football and basketball, his favorite school being Syracuse University./pp Along with his wife, Mary Jane, Jim is survived by his daughter, Sherry B. Robert E. Farley
pRobert E. Farley died at his home in Sarasota, Florida on July 2, 2016. Born in 1923 to the late Edward and Laura Burns Farley, he was one of six brothers. He is survived by his wife, Jean Partisch Farley and was predeceased by his first wife, the late Patricia Trayser and their son Peter Farley. He is also survived by two of his brothers, John W. Farley and Senator Hugh T. Farley as well as his daughters, Janet Caldwell, Lynn Philbin, Jean Graham, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren./ppRobert was a graduate of St. Lawrence University where he earned both Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees. He was a Guidance Counselor at Watertown High School for many years./ppHe had a distinguished military career serving in the Army as a Combat MP. During WWII he landed at Utah Beach, fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was one of the “four in a jeep” during the occupation of Vienna, Austria. His military career is memorialized in a museum in Vienna./ppRobert enjoyed playing bridge and traveling, and he was an accomplished artist./ppServices and interment will be in Watertown, NY in September. She attended school in Prague, Czechoslovakia and then 2 years of college in Prague, Czechoslovakia until their son John was born. On March 17, 1951 she was married to Petr Zuman. In 1966 they left Czechoslovakia and moved to England. Then in 1970 they came to the United States and moved to Potsdam. In 1975 she and her husband became naturalized United States citizens. Radmila worked on and off as a teacher throughout her life and concentrated on being an artist. She studied lacemaking in her native land, as well as Holland, England, Australia, Belgium, and the U.S. She was internationally known as a lacer. She had numerous publications and her work has been seen and presented all over the world. Her interest was in contemporary application of bobbin lace. She used traditional techniques in her designs. She taught Lace making for over 25 years. She is a prize winning international lacemaker. Just recently at a conference in Prague in the Czech Republic, a piece of her work (her last piece) was displayed and became featured in the Bobbin-Lace Application Magazine there. More recently she applied lace-making techniques to silver creating necklaces and earrings. Then using other precious metals and stones created amazing other jewelry, also sold throughout the world. /ppShe was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, The Antique Study Group and the St. Lawrence Arts Council in Potsdam. For years she taught children to appreciate and do art for less fortunate families. She loved music and the opera as well as reading serious novels. She was an avid animal lover and gardener. She enjoyed playing her clarinet and played with the New Horizon Band of Northern New York. She also was worked in the Potsdam Museum. Radmila loved to travel and took pride in taking pictures and building albums of her adventures. /p

She attended the one-room schoolhouse in Clayton Center and graduated from Clayton High School in 1948./ppOn June 11, 1949 she married Robert E. Purcell at the Clayton United Methodist Church with Rev. Henry Bridges officiating./ppVirginia was employed at Graves Pharmacy in Clayton before becoming a full-time homemaker. Later she was employed as a cafeteria worker at Thousand Islands High School for ten years. She was a member of the Clayton United Methodist Church and worked on many church projects, including managing the local food pantry. She also volunteered her time to support many non-profit organizations. Virginia served as Treasurer of the Clayton Fireman’s Auxiliary from 1965 - 2011, achieving life-time membership. As a member of the auxiliary, she was very active in the Booster Club. Virginia was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star./ppIn recognition of her dedication to the Clayton community, she and her husband were the honored recipients of the 1997 Citizens of the Year Award. Virginia enjoyed gardening, baking, and playing cards with family and friends. Besides being a devoted wife and mother, she adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary P. Wiley McRae
pWebster, NY: Mary Patricia Wiley McRae died peacefully on July 19 at age 90, surrounded by her loving family. Born in 1926 in Watertown, NY, Pat attended high school at Immaculate Heart Academy in Watertown, NY, graduated from Good Counsel College of White Plains, and received her Master’s of Education from SUNY Brockport. Pat lived a life of purpose and compassion, dedicating her life to serving others. She held several positions teaching English, including 14 years in the Rochester City School District at Monroe High School and East High School. /ppPat was a woman of deep faith and devotion to God. She served in many roles as parishioner at St. Rita’s in Webster, St. Salome’s in Irondequoit and St. Patrick’s in Victor. She was a volunteer for various organizations including Meals on Wheels and the Ontario County Health Facility. /ppPat enjoyed the company of many friends, traveling, theater, poetry and music--joining Eastman’s New Horizons Orchestra after learning to play the viola at age 76. Her greatest joy was her family who loved and cherished her./ppShe was predeceased by her beloved husband, Hugh Robert; son, Terence; parents, Raymond and Mary Wiley; sister, Catherine Bauter. A loving and devoted mother, Pat is survived by her children, Dr. Robert (Mary Lou Bresnahan) McRae, Kathleen (Kelly) Clausen Horton, Thomas (Tracie) McRae, Donald (Jay Shamieh) McRae, Anne (Mark) Boylan, Daniel (Helen) McRae and Peg (Carl) Silvio; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emily (Laura) and David McRae, Timothy (Carolyn) Clausen, Colleen (Christopher) Jones, Terence (Nicki) Horton, Ian (Tracie) and Brendan McRae, Maura and Conor Boylan, Michael Montoya and Hannah McRae, Kathryn and Claire Delaney; great grandchildren, Molly and Erin Clausen, Maddox McRae; brother, Gerald (Elaine) Wiley; brother-in-law, Richard Bauter; many nieces and nephews and dear friends. /ppOur family expresses gratitude for the compassionate care provided by Sage Harbor and Highland Hospital’s ED, ICU and the Acute Care for the Elderly Unit. /ppFriends may call on Friday, July 22 from 4-7 pm at the Anthony Funeral Chapel, 1031 Ridge Rd., Webster.
