pINDIANA- Allie Rose Kirkpatrick, age 4 ½ months, passed away suddenly on July 15, 2016 at Payton Manning Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana./ppAllie was born on March 3, 2016 in Indianapolis, IN to Christopher and Faith (Beatty) Kirkpatrick. Besides her parents, she is survived by her paternal grandparents, Robert and Kimberly Kirkpatrick; and maternal grandparents, Ann and Darren Lasher./ppAllie was a beloved daughter and true fighter. Miriam Sanford (“Sandy”) Krebs
pMiriam Sanford (“Sandy”) Krebs, a long time Potsdam resident, quietly departed on June 14, 2016 in Virginia. After raising a family of four, she trained and practiced in reflexology, worked with Niagara Therapy and Amway. She touched countless people with her warmth and generosity. She moved to Asheville North Carolina in 1995. Her family was the greatest source of pride for her. She was most happy doing for others, making others feel good. The people that called Sandy a friend were boundless. She was an amazing woman of profound, living faith. She was predeceased by her husband Bill Krebs, and her brother Bob and sister Janet. She reveled in her life with Bill, not only with their family, but also in the Lion’s Club and State Magistrates, Scouts, music, church and Niagara Therapy. She is survived by her children and their spouses; Doug and Margie Krebs of Clancy, Montana; Bob and Sally Krebs of South Hero, Vermont; Kim and Larry of Chesapeake, Virginia; and Candace Krebs and Paul Moberg of Asheville, North Carolina. She has 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 3 great, great children. There will be a brief committal service at 1PM on August 6th, 2016 at Bayside Cemetery in Potsdam, New York followed by a celebration of her life at the family campsite at Lake Ozonia. Kenneth R. Clark
pKenneth Raymond Clark of Summerfield, Florida died June 16, 2016 following injuries received in a car accident on March 9, 2016. He was the son of Ward and Margery Symes Clark. He was raised by his grandparents after the loss of his mother in 1932. He is predeceased by three sisters and one brother: Pauline Sidmore, Phyllis West, Doreen Bettinger, and Earl Clark. /ppKen joined the Merchant Marines in 1943 at 15 years old and then the United States Navy in 1946. After his discharge from the Navy he joined Iron Workers Local 60 and retired after 31 years. He was married to Helen Lashomb on March 20, 1951. He is survived by Helen and their 8 children: Catherine, Stephen (Joanne), Barbara Pratt (Doug), Michael (Debbie), John (Susan), James (Kim), Margaret Ventura, and Thomas (Yvette). He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nephews and nieces./ppHe was buried at the Florida National Cemetery with military honors on July 11, 2016. pA Memorial Service for Alice B. Ott, age 88 of Ogdensburg, will be held at 11:00am on Friday July 29, 2016 at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Mrs. Ott past away Sunday (Feb 28, 2016) at the Riverledge Healthcare Facility. /ppShe was born on November 11, 1927 in Ogdensburg, the daughter of Edgar & Jennie LaCombe. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in June of 1945 and in December of that same year, she married Samuel W. Ott. The couple settled in Ogdensburg./ppAlice worked as a bookkeeper for various local businesses during her career to include the George Hall Corporation and Don Trimm’s Auto. She also worked as a sales clerk for the Puritan Store. She owned her own business Ott’s Liquor Store for several years before retiring. In retirement, Alice was an avid volunteer for many organizations to include her church, The First Congregation Church, where she held many positions, and even preached a sermon on occasion. She volunteered for St. Lawrence County Hospice and the Red Cross, and was recognized by Hospice for her efforts by winning the “Volunteer of the Year” award. She was always there to lend a hand to anyone in need. Alice was a member of the Maple City Chapter 71 Order of The Eastern Star. Her family will remember her most for the famous Sunday dinners where if you left hungry you were in the wrong house. She was an avid reader and collected many books. /ppAlice is survived by her son Jim and his wife Connie of Fort Myers, FL, and a son-in-law Tom McCullough of Ogdensburg and Oakland, CA; her five grandchildren and their spouses; Lesli Ott Kirby and her husband Brian of Ogdensburg; Jennifer Ott Isenhower and her husband Mike of Fort Myers, FL; Bill Ott and his wife Tonya of Ogdensburg; Andrea McCullough and her husband Ian Jansen of Oakland, CA; and Beth Ladouceur and her husband Jamie of Heuvelton. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, Sheena Kirby, Wyatt Kirby, Emma Ladouceur, Alice McCullough, Carlee Isenhower, Isabel Isenhower, Jakob Ladouceur, Gabriella Ott, and Lillian McCullough-Jansen, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. pMargaret A. “Maggie” Brotherton, 75, of 34731 St. Rt. 26, died Saturday morning, July 23, 2016 at her residence where she was under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County./ppMaggie was born in Great Bend on August 16, 1940, the daughter of the late Peter and Irene Toth Ginger Sr. She graduated from Augustinian Academy in 1957 and later attended the Watertown School of Commerce. She married Thomas L. Brotherton on September 5, 1959 at St. Rita’s Church in Deferiet. Before the birth of her children, she worked at the St. Regis Paper Company in Deferiet from 1957-1961. She returned for a short period before starting her career for the Carthage Central School District in 1968. Her first position was secretary to the cafeteria manager before becoming secretary to the high school vice principal and finally, retired as the secretary to the middle school principal in 1997. She continued to substitute at the school until 2015./ppMaggie was a member of the Red Hats Society, Great Bend Fire Dept. Auxiliary and Past Secretary to the Women’s Bowling League. She was an avid bowler and NASCAR fan and loved traveling to casinos, gambling and playing tickets. /ppShe is survived by her husband, Thomas L. Brotherton of Carthage, one daughter and her husband: Deborah and Brian Hayden of Carthage, one son: Thomas M. Brotherton of Carthage, 5 Grandchildren, Sarah, Melissa, Michael, Matthew and Chelsea, 5 Great Grandchildren, Cali, Aubrianna, Jameison, Harper and Blake, two brothers: Peter Ginger Jr. and James Ginger, both of Carthage and several nieces, nephews and cousins. pRichard “Dick” Revelle of Chaumont, NY died suddenly on July 21, 2016 at James Square Health and Rehabilitation Centre in Syracuse./ppA Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Chaumont Presbyterian Church with Rev. Rachel Roberts officiating. A Masonic Ritual will be held at the beginning of the service. Burial will be private./ppArrangements are under the direction of Becker-Cleveland Funeral Home, Chaumont./ppDick was born on March 24, 1933 in Watertown, NY, the son of the late E. Balfour and Anna (Hickey) Revelle. He was a graduate of Watertown High School and the New York State College of Forestry at Syracuse University where he lettered in crew. Following graduation, Dick served two years in the United States Army. Dick started his career as a teacher and went on to own and operate his own construction business, Revelle Builders. His work in the seventies can still be seen along Watertown’s Neuman and Lachenauer Drives. He taught at B.O.C.E.S., Lyme Central School and the Watertown Correctional Facility. He was very community oriented and served on the Town of Lyme Zoning Board of Appeals and Board of Assessment Review and the Lyme Central School Board of Education. He was a member of the Chaumont Lodge #172 Free and Accepted Masons for 60 years and was very active in lodge sponsored community breakfasts and dinners. He was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time on Lake Ontario. He sang in the Chaumont Presbyterian Church choir and served as a Deacon. Dick was an avid fan of the Syracuse Orange and always quick to help others, especially with building projects and repairs. Earlier in his life he was a Barbershop Quartet performer./ppDick is survived by his children William “Matthew” of Oswego, Daniel “Mark” (Connie) of Yorkville, IL, Jennifer Walther of Liverpool and James “Luke” (Heather) of Cicero, his sister Hazel Phipps of Jamesville, his brother William Revelle (Lorraine) of Chaumont, his grandchildren Dana, Elizabeth, Jared, Nicole, Micheal, Kaili, Savannah, Natalie and Spencer, his great grandson Samuel and many nieces, nephews and cousins. pWayne F. Dusharm, age 64, of Gouverneur, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016 at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley./ppWayne was born on December 19, 1951 in Gouverneur to the late Clyde F. and Beatrice M. (McIntosh) Dusharm. He attended school at New York State School for the Deaf in Rome, NY at the age of three and graduated in 1971. He lost his hearing as a toddler due to meningitis. While attending the school of the deaf, at the age of 16 he lost his vision in his right eye due to a BB gun shot wound. While he was at school he was active in sports. He particularly loved playing basketball and won many awards. After graduation, he started working at Dodds Motors Corp. detailing cars. He left Dodds and started working at the Tribune Press, and there he found his love for graphic design./ppHe married Cheryl Sullivan in 1976. The marriage ended in divorce, but the couple remained friends. After his divorce, he decided to pursue his love of graphic design and attended St. Paul T.V.I. Prep School for the Deaf in St. Paul, MN from 1979-1980, receiving a certificate as a Master Printer. He enrolled in Iowa Western Community College in 1980-1982, receiving his Associates Degree in Graphic Arts Design. After graduating, he moved to Brookings, SD, working at Daktronics, making scoreboards and electrical signs. He moved to Madison, WI for a short time doing odd jobs, then moved back to New York in 1985. He started working at Compas in Ogdensburg leaving due to eye strain. He worked at the NYSARC bottle redemption center and then went to work at Service Master in Gouverneur. His final place of employment and where he retired from was at the Gouverneur Cemetery Association./ppWayne is survived by his siblings, Gary and Carol Dusharm, Brookings, SD, Rodney Dusharm of Gouverneur and Darlene and Gregg Gonyeau of Gouverneur; nieces and nephews, Rhonda VanOrnam, Christopher, Jeremy, Kevin, and Daryl Dusharm, Jessica Gardner, Mandy Perrin, Melissa Hall, Melissa Woodward, Gaige and Garrison Gonyeau; nine great nieces and nephews and three great-great nephews./ppWayne’s disabilities did not keep him from living a full, adventurous life. He was an avid Yankee, Minnesota Viking, Syracuse Orangeman fan. pLyons Falls – Harold James Dorrity, Jr., 74, passed away Friday July 22, 2016, in the comfort care wing at Lewis County Hospital, with his family and friends by his side./ppHal was born on November 29, 1941, to the late Harold J. and Marguerite Jordan Dorrity, Sr. He graduated from Port Leyden High School in 1961 and from Brockport State in 1967./ppHal married Bertha Harris and in 1969, they moved to Lyons Falls, where he taught PE in Port Leyden Elementary. He was a boys and girls basketball, football and baseball coach. He was part owner of the Brantingham Golf Club for 34 years. On July 9, 2016, in the Lyons Falls Park, they renewed their vows on their 50th wedding anniversary and were awarded citizenship of the year by the village./ppHe is survived by his wife, Bertha and their two children, Harold 3rd and Debbie; three brothers, Ron and Mary, Dale and Terry and Anne; six grandchildren, Abbie, Emmie, Harold 4th, Marshall, Jordan and Aiden; also his step-father Gordon Peebles, two step-brothers and two step-sisters. He is predeceased by his two brothers Gary Michael and Douglas./ppHe will be remembered by many as a teacher, a friend, husband, father, brother and most of all as a grandfather or as “Papa”.
